Chronomancer’s Dreams of Butterfly Wings


 


Description: The Chronomancer’s Dream is the second in a series of mixed media pieces inspired by an old anniversary clock that I found at a garage sale, resin frames, steampunk butterflies and some old vacuum tubes - then the vision came together. I added gears, moulds, a variety of found objects, and mechanical elements. All elements were painted with acrylic metallic paints. Once the elements were assembled, I used waxes were added to provide highlights and various colors. I wired the piece with LED lights to illuminate the vacuum tubes. The final piece measures 16” x 10” x 8”.

  Inspiration:  This is the second in a series of three mixed media pieces inspired by the magnificent masks and costumes from Carnival and Marti Gras. Description : This Mystical Masquerade mixed media piece started with the shadowbox and the head piece. I planned the layout of the background elements using wood gear scraps, chipboard gears, mechanical gears and metal butterflies. I then stenciled the background using soft gloss gel followed by adhering fine lace, gears, mechanicals, and flower elements with heavy body gel. Sir Vagabond in Japan Mixed Media Mini Album

  Inspiration: I was inspired by the Stamperia Sir Vagabond in Scrapbooking by Antonis Tzanidakis and a collection of oriental mixed media items. I was very excited at how it turned out. I hope this inspires you to create something fun! Description : This Sir Vagabond in Japan Mixed Media Mini Album began with a Graphic 45 Pocket black Interactive Folio Album with interchangeable pieces kit. I layered the Stamperia papers, rice papers and die cuts. I then added a variety of ephemera elements, mold pieces, and mechanicals. The final piece measures 9.25” x 6.5” x 2”.
