Illuminated Mixed Media Ukulele by Jason Duigou

Jason's Inspiration : I have seen examples of doing mixed media instruments on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook. I wanted to take that idea to the next level by illuminating the inside with LED lighting to give the project a beautiful effect emphasizing the mixed media mixed. Description: I disassembled the plastic ukulele, removed the plastic strings and covered all the pieces with black gesso inside and out. I chose a number of chipboard as a base and added various moulds secured with Heavy Body Gel.  I then used a Dremel to create decorative opening the ukulele body following the pattern of the chipboard and moulds to later allow the lighting to shine through. I repeated the same for the back and neck of the ukulele.  I wanted the mechanical moulds inside to stand out, so I used  Vintage Gold, Aged Brass and Rich Copper  Art Alchemy Waxes  - amazing products that produce such a wonderful look!
