S aturday, September 30, 2023, 2023 La-La Land Crafts Virtual Craft Retreat Inspiration: My wife Nanci and I attended the 2023 La-La Land Crafts Virtual Craft Retreat where we have to opportunity to create numerous projects over three days. The talented instructors included Irina Blount, Martha Tucker, and Alexandra Morein! We enjoyed the time with the group from all over coming together to craft and have fun!  Description : Sharing all the fun projects my wife and I made together during the 2023 La-La Land Crafts Virtual Craft Retreat! Sir Vagabond Discover Flight Book

Inspiration: As part of La-La Land Crafts Virtual Craft Retreat, a chipboard book was one of the projects. Since my wife and I were both making the same things with duplicate kits, I decided to change the theme to use some of my Stamperia Sir Vagabond Aviator papers and elements and a bit of steampunk flair. With some helpful suggestions from Nanci Wolter-Duigou , I was very excited at how it turned out. I hope this inspires you to create something fun! Description : I started with a chipboard book. The project used paper towel (kitchen roll), separated the layered pieces, and applied it to the book with Mod Podge while bunching it to look like an old rough covered book. I painted it with dark brown, medium brown, and light tan acrylic paint to give it a leathery appearance. The project had us cover the book “page” area with a medium and use toothpicks to create pages effect. I used 3D Matte Gel for this. My wife had an idea to paint the pages gold like an old, gilded look. I used a
