"Who You Were Made To Be" Mixed Media Treasure Chest by Jason Duigou

Jason's Inspiration: I was really inspired to make a statement about “The World Needs Who You Were Made To Be” in our lives no matter how cracked, uneven, and rough our pasts were. I also wanted to challenge myself to do a project with colors I don't normally use such as this combination of yellow, green and blue hues. Description : The Who You Were Made To Be Treasure Chest piece measures 8.5" x 7" x 6.5" featuring a sturdy wooden chest. I used a stencil and soft body gel to create texture all over. I then added chipboard followed by multiple layers of various moulds adhered with heavy body gel to give the piece depth on all four sides and the top. I added more detail with found objects, ephemera, mechanical gears, hearts, and screw heads. Liquid acrylics of yellow, green and blue green to give the chest drama. Dark liquid acrylic was used to push the shows and depth of the piece. Splatters were added in various colors for additional interest. The “The World
